Join us for a fun evening of stargazing at Brookwood Park in Herkimer, NY on September 25!Hosted by the awesome Youth Engagement Services team at Catholic Charities of Herkimer County, and the Mohawk Valley Astronomical Society (MVAS), the evening includes games & educational activities, and stargazing once the skies are dark!
The MVAS will have our telescopes ready, and there is a lot to see in the night sky -- including stars, star clusters, nebulae, the Andromeda Galaxy and perhaps even planet Saturn.
On W. German St. in Herkimer, turn into Brookwood Park (see the map at https://www.google.com/maps/place/E+Brookwood+Rd,+Herkimer,+NY+13350 ). The telescopes will be on the right, in the large field once you drive into the park.
Make sure you dress warmly as temperatures drop quickly after sundown. Bring along your Herkimer County family and friends, it promises to be a fun evening!
Please note, the stargazing is weather permitting.
