It's time for our 2nd annual NC SciFest Statewide Star Party event! Come join Yadkin County Public Library out at Yadkin Memorial Park at Lake Hampton during the daylight from 7:00pm until dusk for STEM activities and moon-themed crafts under the picnic shelter; the Lake Hampton park playground is also available. This year’s SciFest theme “Mission to the Moon” inspires the activities and crafts:a moon phases craft

build-a-rocket and moon base dramatic play

Around 8:45pm, once it gets dark enough to view the night sky, telescopes will be available for observing courtesy of the Forsyth Astronomical Society. Rain or cloud-cover will require moving indoors to the library, so check the FAS website (https://www.fas37.org/wp/) or library Facebook page to make sure the event is still happening at the park. All events and activities will be free to attend and partake in.
For the month of April, the Yadkin County Park StoryWalk will have the official 2026 NC Star Party book of choice on display for reading (6600 Service Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055).
