Discover the magic of the Cairngorms National Park after dark with our 2hr star-gazing experience. Loch Insh is a great dark skies area being just outside the local village.

Our evenings are perfect for first timers with the emphasis is on naked-eye observation, although you could bring binoculars if you have them as they work well to see constilations clearly. Our guide can also teach you some tricks with your smart phones for photography and using star chart apps so make sure phones have a bit of charged and bring a tripod if your interested in getting the best photos of the night sky.

Wrap up well as we will spend a good hour outdoors weather permitting, its often very chilly so full on winter woolies are a must. Bring a low light torch to make walking in the woodland trails easier. Our guides will lead you to some magical local places the dark trees provide a dramatic contrast to the night sky.

Dont worry about cloudy skies you will be amazed what we can teach you at its a great night out regardless of the weather, but when its clear it'll stay with you forever and recently we even get glimpses of the Northern lights and whatever the weather you’ll leave with a great foundation and the tools to know what your looking at in the night sky wherever you are.
