About this Event
Join us at Glenmore Lodge on Friday 29th November for a memorable evening hearing from Robbie Phillips about the wild stories, formative moments, and some recent highlights of his climbing career.
Why not make an evening of it, and grab dinner and drinks in the Lochain Bar before we get started at 20.00?
Robbie Phillips - Bad Day at the Office:
A compendium of stories of when things have gotten a bit wild in Robbie's climbing career, sharing some of his formative moments in his bigger climbing adventures and learning how to stay safe, even if the road to get there was a little rocky at times. Sharing some of his most recent adventures including a film premiere of his latest trip to the most remote islands of the British Isles, St Kilda! Robbie was inspired by a 17th century writer who wrote of the St Kildans climbing a sea stack, the last person to climb it was over 130 years ago! This evening is sure to keep you gripped!
Bio:
Robbie, a self-confessed all-around climber, embraces every facet of the sport, with adventure always at its core. Having scaled Big Walls and made first ascents in distant, exotic locales like Patagonia and Madagascar, Robbie finds his truest sense of home exploring the Scottish Highlands. Here, he seeks out unclimbed, remote boulders and sails the Hebridean Sea in search of long-forgotten sea cliffs at the Edge of the World. Remarkably, these grand adventures all began at a small bouldering wall in Edinburgh through the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Beyond climbing, Robbie channels his passion into storytelling, using film (via his YouTube channel), the written word, and his voice to share stories, educate on environmental issues, and inspire future generations to embrace the outdoors.
