On Saturday, April 18th from 11:30am-1:30pm, the #Standing4BlackGirls coalition, Women’s Leadership Project and other community partners will hold space for missing and murdered Black women, girls and queer folx in an annual outdoor community action to disrupt rape culture and sexual violence against Black girls and women in Leimert Park. The coalition will gather at 4343 Leimert Blvd., L.A. 90008 and march to City Council District 8 offices at 5462 Crenshaw Blvd. The action will focus on lifting up survivor voices, while calling on policymakers and elected officials to prioritize Gender-Based violence prevention for Black girls, Black women and queer youth and create a dedicated youth space for Black girls and youth in CD8, named after trafficking and abduction M**der victim Tioni Theus.
