Grief of all kinds lives in each one of our bodies, and is one of the most primary and universal human experiences that connect us to the web of humanity. Yet, many of us have a relationship with grief that is primarily based in fear, avoidance and suppression. This has unfortunately extended to most of if not all of our clinical training-very few of us took a class or training in what it really means to hold the brave and creative space that grief requires. The good news is that, just like our clients, our bodies carry a deep knowing about what grief needs, which comes from turning towards our own bodies rather than away. In this workshop, you will be invited to slow down enough to feel how your own grief can be a resource for your grieving clients. Our time together will contain meditation and grounding practices, discussion, journaling and a movement based experiential designed to help you both differentiate your own grief from your clients and intentionally use your own embodied knowing to help your clients integrate loss.
