About this Event
We will meet in the City Centre at the Waterstones Cafe in Orchard Square before heading up City Road and walking up to Skye Edge, one of Sheffield's best viewpoints and notorious for ilicit gambling during Sheffield's Gang Wars of the 1920s.
On this walk, we'll also have time to explore the historic Sheffield Manor Lodge and peek into the turret where Mary Queen of Scots was kept prisoner, and we'll stop to do some writing at the Rhubarb Shed Cafe. We might even meet a character from Tudor times!
We'll also visit the historic City Road Cemetery and scenic Norfolk Park (with another cafe writing stop!), returning to the city centre via the Cholera Monument and Park Hill Flats.
Your workshop leader is Anne Grange, a local novelist, poet and editor, who has lived in Sheffield since 1995 and has a deep love of nature and the environment.
