About this Event
Stand-Up & SHINE Camps (Beginner)
In our week-long Stand-Up & SHINE Camps experience scheduled for Monday, June 8 to Friday, June 12, 2026, with full and half-day options, youth will discover their strengths, explore new interests, and transform personal stories into laughter-worthy moments. Whether diving into self-discovery or crafting the perfect punchline, every activity is designed to invite curiosity, ignite creativity, and celebrate their SHINE!
This Beginner Camp is designed for students who have never done stand-up comedy, theater, or improv before. There is no experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Designed for ages 10-14, this program features two engaging camp options:
- Morning Camp (9:00 AM–12:30 PM): Dive into the SHINE framework (the Strengths, Hobbies, Interests & Irritants, Needs, and Experiences that make each of us unique) through guided activities, journaling, and team-building games that build self-awareness and confidence.
- Afternoon Camp (1:30 PM–5:00 PM): Learn the art of storytelling and comedy writing. From crafting punchlines to practicing stage presence, campers will prepare for a Friday night comedy showcase, where they’ll SHINE on stage in front of a live audience.
- Full-Day Option (9:00 AM–5:00 PM): Includes both camps plus a supervised lunch hour from 12:30–1:30 PM, packed with fun activities.
Spots are limited to 12 participants per camp. Early bird discounts are available until April 15 or when spots fill.
