About this Event
In this collaborative session with Zack Repko of LESCSS, we’ll explore the art of staging plants using carefully curated materials, transforming them into living compositions.
Participants will begin by selecting from a curated selection of rare plants and hand-thrown ceramic pots, made specially for this event. Each pot & plant is chosen for their unique character and form. Next, we’ll guide you through the process of building a harmonious environment for your plant, considering texture, proportion, and overall aesthetic.
Throughout the workshop, LESCSS will introduce the fundamentals of soil amendments and repotting, sharing insight into how different materials support plant health and longevity. We’ll walk through the “how” and “why” behind each step, from refreshing soil to properly situating your plant in its new vessel.
As we move into staging, we’ll focus on composition—balancing natural elements and subtle details to create a finished piece that evokes the natural habitats where these strange plants thrive: nestled amongst rocks, minerals, and sand, or clinging to cliffsides.
While working, we’ll also share essential plant care tips, including light exposure, watering, and maintenance practices, so you can confidently support your plant’s growth beyond the workshop.
Leave with a new lifeform, along with the knowledge and inspiration to continue growing with intention at home.
