It’s nearly show day: you’ve mastered your choreography, got your costume ready to go, curated the perfect accessories…now what to do about your makeup?!If stage makeup (or makeup in general) has always eluded you, this workshop will help demystify the process. We’ll go over some basic knowledge like selecting the right products for your needs, choosing the right shades for your skin tone, and application tips for different types of products. We’ll also talk about the differences between everyday makeup and stage makeup and how to compensate for the unique needs of a stage look. What we won’t be doing is designing unique looks for each participant, but you’ll leave the workshop armed with the foundational knowledge to create a look on your own, so you may want to bring something to take notes or sketch ideas.
This workshop is designed for beginners: no experience needed! To take full advantage of any practical demonstrations, in-person attendance is recommended.
Feel free to bring your own makeup products and tools to practice with, but please also bring a beach towel, yoga mat, or similar to protect the floor beneath you if you plan to apply any products. And no aerosols please!
