Stage 5 delivers a classic Welsh climbing test, ending with a summit finish on The Tumble, one of the UK’s most iconic climbs.
Starting and finishing in Torfaen, fans in Pontypool get a rare double viewing as the race passes through town twice.
The route heads south via Usk and Chepstow, then hits the day’s first climbs:

• 🚴♂️ Itton Hill – nearly 5 km
• 🚴♂️ Old Ross Road – en route to Abergavenny

• 🚴♂️ The Tumble (Summit Finish) – Second and final climb to the line
After a loop through Blaenavon and back through Pontypool (around 2:00 PM), the peloton retraces to Usk, crosses the Chain Bridge, and heads straight back to The Tumble for the brutal finish.
📍 Where to watch:
• Chepstow or Monmouth (mid-stage action)
• Pontypool town centre (see the race twice!)
• The Tumble – for both the first and final climb
