QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

Course details:

• Type: Ofqual-regulated, one-day EFAW qualification
• Format: 9:00am –5:00pm (certificate valid for 3 years)
• Trainer: Stuart Brown, Action for Life
• Location: Age UK Devon head office, Exeter, EX2 8PF

What the course covers:

• The role and responsibilities of a first aider
• Assessing an incident and managing an unresponsive casualty
• CPR and defibrillation, recovery position
• Choking, seizures, shock
• Wounds & bleeding, minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruising), minor burns & scalds

Who is it for?

Staff, volunteers, Home Support Assistants and anyone else who has been invited by Age UK Devon

Requirements:

• Full-day attendance required for certificate issuance
• Participants must be able to kneel on the floor for up to 5 minutes for resuscitation exercises

Other info:

• Participants to bring their own lunch (microwave, toaster, fridge available) we will provide tea/coffee/water.
