In 1916 Yorkshire, the Ramsden Choral Society is depleted by World War 1 enlistments. Enter Dr. Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes), a demanding, controversial choirmaster. He recruits teenagers and a wounded soldier, uniting a grieving community through Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius.
