Bring your broken or worn-out household items to our Repair Café, held on the last Friday of every month at St Mary’s (November meeting at Hope Community Methodist Church, Barnby Gate, no meeting in December!) Our friendly volunteer repairers will do their best to help you mend your item and maybe teach you a few repair skills along the way.
How it works:
- Bring a clean, portable item that needs fixing (we can’t accept dirty items, microwaves, or anything powered by gas, petrol, or diesel).
- On arrival, visit our reception desk to fill in a short form describing your item. You’ll be called when it’s your turn.
- Sit with your repairer, watch the process, and lend a hand if needed
- Enjoy tea, coffee, and biscuits while you wait!
Cost: Free! Donations are welcome to help keep the Café running.
Accessibility: St Mary’s is fully accessible for disabled and wheelchair users.
If your repair can’t be finished on the day, we’ll help you find parts and invite you to bring it back next time.
Tip: You can fill in your registration form online in advance: www.stmnewark.org/repair-cafe
Come along, meet your community, and help us reduce waste, one repair at a time.
