The Sound of Music, the final collaboration by Rodgers and Hammerstein, became one of the world’s most beloved musicals. Based on Maria Augusta Trapp’s memoir, the story follows a spirited postulant who becomes governess to Captain von Trapp’s seven children, bringing music and joy back into their home. As Nazism tightens its grip on Austria, Maria and the von Trapp family face a profound moral choice.
