The Festive Board is a Masonic tradition dating back to the time of the formation of the first Grand Lodge in England. A Festive Board, or Table Lodge, is a banquet meal enjoyed by brethren to celebrate the Craft and its purpose as well as enjoy each others company.
St. John the Baptist day is one of two traditional dates that lodges hold feasts on, to honor one of Freemasonry's two patron saints. It is also on this day in 1717 that the Grand Lodge of England was formed.
The meal will consist of multiple courses with a primary protein of either Steak or Chicken. The program will include the ceremonies of the Five Toasts, the taking of wine with our Worshipful Master, songs to the brotherhood, and other traditional observances of a Festive Board.
Master Masons only are invited to attend; any member may be asked to show a current dues card at the time of the event. The proposed donation of $50.00 includes the meal and a small gift to attendees.
Attendees will be invited to remain after the event to enjoy the tavern and porch of East Bay Golf Club for beverages or cigars.
