# Melsonby Church Tower Open Day and Bell Ringing ## Saturday 4th October - 12 noon to 4pm
Join us for a memorable day at St James the Great in Melsonby as we open the doors to our historic church tower. This special event offers a rare opportunity to explore one of the village’s most recognisable landmarks, learn about its history, and experience the art of bell ringing first-hand on our simulator.
## What to Expect
·**Guided Tower Tours**: Climb the steps of the church tower and enjoy panoramic views of Melsonby and the surrounding countryside.
·**Bell Ringing Demonstrations**: Witness skilled bell ringers in action and learn about the centuries-old tradition of the “English Full Circle Style” of bell ringing.
·**Have-a-Go Sessions**: Try bell ringing yourself! Under the supervision of experienced ringers, visitors can try their hand in a safe and controlled way with a simulator set up in the church.
**·Refreshments:** Light refreshments will be available in the church throughout the day.
·Learn about the church’s history and features
