The Melbourne Welsh Male Choir is proud to present our annual St David’s Day Celebration Concert on Sunday 1 March, 2.30pm, at the Ian Woolf Auditorium, Carey Grammar School Kew — a modern, comfortable venue with excellent disabled access. This year we are thrilled to welcome visiting award-winning Welsh mezzo-soprano Erin Fflur, fresh from major opera stages across the UK and Ireland. Erin brings a rich, expressive voice that beautifully embodies the spirit of Cymru. (Here’s a show real of Erin’s )
Enjoy the power and passion of the Welsh choral tradition, with favourites from our rich heritage alongside fresh contemporary arrangements. You’ll hear the familiar and the new in equal measure, complemented by evocative readings from the distinctly Welsh pen of Dylan Thomas.
Arrive early and enjoy the foyer bar, open from 1.45 PM and again at interval — a perfect opportunity to relax and socialise in the spacious foyer before the music begins. There’ll be some classic Welsh sweet treats too!
