About this Event

With Scotland competing in their first World Cup since 1998, join us for a journey through the history of Scottish football. Author Hamish MacDonald will guide us from the game’sorigins to the present day.

Using words and images from his recent book ‘Square Baw’, Hamish will share the stories and passions that have driven Scottish football.

About the speaker

Hamish MacDonald is a novelist, playwright, and poet who writes in both Scots and English. He served as the first Scots Scriever at the National Library of Scotland and is the 2022 Scotland Slam Poetry Champion. A dedicated football poet, he is also the honorary poet (the Bankies Bard) of Clydebank Football Club.
