About this Event
Join the Springfield Park Tree Champions
🌳 Help to care for trees
Trees play a vital role in reducing air pollution and providing shelter and food for wildlife. They also help to reduce temperatures in the urban environment and provide much needed shade for the community when it is hot.
The Tree Champions tasks are influenced by the seasons, and can include planting, watering, pruning, mulching and weeding, or similar jobs that help to care for the park.
No experience or equipment is needed, but wear some sturdy footwear that you wouldn't mind to get a bit dirty.
🌱 Springfield Park User Group
The Tree Champion sessions organised by the Springfield Park User Group (also known as SPUG), a friendly group of people who come together to help look after the park.
You'll learn about tree mainenance and the different types of trees in the park from knowledgeable volunteers. It’s a great opportunity to get to meet members of the local community and have a chat whilst helping to improve the park and wider environment.
