Dear VWS Community,We invite you to join our adult-only Spring Social on May 24th from 6:30-11:30 pm. It is organized by the Parent Committee through the pooling of our Community Funds. It includes a beautiful venue, taco and poke bar, free parking and an incredible DJ! Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
The Spring Social is about celebrating and fostering connections within our diverse community. This is an opportunity to exercise our anthropological values - recognizing that each of us has a unique and compelling life story. We are from different cultures, have different backgrounds and had different opportunities that brought us here. Our household incomes vary. But when we pool our assets (time, knowledge, resources) and assign them equal value, we become whole—a strong, cohesive, vibrant community.
The decision to donate to replenish the Community Fund is up to you. In the spirit of inclusion, we wanted to make the Spring Social accessible to all families enrolled in the VWS - regardless of financial means. A reference to cover the basic cost per ticket is $60 CAD. We encourage you to decide what that amount should be for you - could be more, could be less.
When ordering, let us know how many tickets you would like with your donation to the Community Fund.
Additionally, we invite community members to bake dessert platters (serving approximately 25 people) in exchange for one ticket. It is an alternative way to contribute. If you want to participate in our ‘bake to boogie’ initiative, please contact us at [email protected] by May 15th at 11:59 pm. First come, first serve, as there are limited spots, and we will confirm your participation. There are no restrictions as long as you list the ingredients.
