Immerse in spring with your senses on this intimate walk amongst the trees.Join us for a guided walk, a deep dive into your senses and the environment. The Arborteum has a collection of over 5,000 trees and remnant bushland. A Forest Therapy walk gives you a unique perspective and includes activities to help you relax, such as deep breathing, stretching and sensory immersion. Be inspired by science and poetry and finish up with a cup of herbal tea.
Forest Therapy / Shinrin Yoku is an evidence based practice that can reduce the effects of stress, help to enhance your immune system and improve mood. Learn about how spending time in nature improves your health.
Shinrin Yoku North West has been bringing this experience of deep relaxation to NW Tasmania for over 3 years.
The walk runs for 2 hours and is suitable for anyone who can walk inclines and stairs. Not suitable for persons under 14.
Entry fee $5 to the arboretum is included in the ticket price or a discounted members price is available for Arboretum members.
Access: The paths we will walk have some areas of slope, uneven surfaces and stairs.
Time: arrive at 9:20 for a 9:30 start.
Meet: At the gazebo next to the kiosk.
Bring: Closed toe shoes, drinking water and rain coat to sit on.
Guide: Elspeth Brock is a trained horticulturalist and certified Forest Therapy Guide with the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance (INFTA).
