As the uplifting energy of spring stirs, nature invites us to release, and focus on planting seeds for growth and abundance. Join Stella & Jenn for a deeply nourishing Qigong workshop inspired by the Wood Element – a time to cultivate your unique energy expression, stretch and release, and create space for more vitality and renewal.
This is a unique opportunity to be held by two experienced teachers blending their energies to create a layered, uplifting experience full of wisdom and warmth. Whether you joined us in autumn to lay the foundations, or are new to our workshops, you are very welcome!
We will provide chairs so we can combine seated and standing practice. You will not be expected to sit on the floor or stand the whole time.
More about what we’ll explore:
The Wood Energy of the Spring is mainly associated with our Liver & Gallbladder. Other associated body parts are muscles, tendons & ligaments; the Central Nervous System; and the eyes (sense organ). The Liver is called ‘The General’ of the body, as it is a vital organ which commands over 500 functions within the body, overlapping with & assisting other organs. It shares roles with the kidneys (blood cleansing) & digestive system (metabolism regulation & bile production), for example.
The virtuous gifts of the spring time Wood element are generosity, kindness, creativity, and inner vision. It is here we find our flexibility & resilience – not just physically, but mentally, and emotionally – the ability to easily adapt to life’s changing environments & situations.
Springtime brings a sense of Expansion, Growth, and Abundance. In our shared practice, we will stretch, twist, and lengthen. We will explore movement, challenges, learning, freedom; and take care of our whole system, to create a healing rest and digest state.

We will be taking the afternoon to open ourselves up to lighter energy through gentle movement, combined with mindfulness and regenerative care taking of the body, mind and spirit. This retreat is honouring the new life and renewal energy of spring, preparing us for the warmer energy of the summer months ahead.
We will be meeting again on June 28th 10-3 for a Qigong summer retreat day to continue the seasonal cultivation and flow. Pop the date in your diary!
