About this Event
Let’s harness some seasonal magic by making delicious, herbal syrups using early season plants including Stinging Nettle, Chickweed, and, if we’re lucky, maybe even Magnolia flowers. Join Seattle-based clinical herbalist Rosa Vissers for a hands-on workshop and learn to craft your very own herbal elixirs. The class will be interactive and engage all your senses. You will:
- Look at, touch, and taste the abundant plants of early spring, learning their nutritional and medicinal properties along the way.
- Learn two distinct ways of infusing flowers, leaves, or fruit to make herbal syrups.
- Take home your own tasty, handcrafted Spring Equinox syrup.
- Receive a handout with instructions to refer to when making syrups at home.
- Spend an afternoon set amongst the beautiful setting of Carnation Farms.
Working with culinary and medicinal plants doesn’t need to be complicated. In fact, it can be simple. Let’s celebrate the plants of early spring and make some tasty concoctions along the way. This botanical workshop is perfect for those interested in plant medicines, holistic wellness, or those wanting to celebrate the changing seasons.
