About this Event
Discover the spontaneous and expressive world of monotype printmaking in this hands-on class. Working with plexiglass plates, you’ll explore both additive methods (building up layers of ink) and reductive techniques (removing ink) to create your own bouquet or vase of flowers. We’ll experiment with botanical elements and a variety of textures using a combination of manual pressure techniques like baren and spoon rubbing, as well as traditional press printing. Each participant will leave with an original, one-of-a-kind floral artwork.
This workshop welcomes beginners and experienced printmakers alike who are curious about the painterly, experimental nature of monotype. No previous printmaking experience required—just bring your creativity and willingness to play with the medium.
Materials: All materials provided, including inks, plexiglass plates, paper, and access to the press.
