Spring into the growing season with The Brown Homestead at our annual Seedling Giveaway event!Drop-by this family-friendly gathering of games, gardens and grub at our special historic site:
🌱Pick up FREE Homestead-grown heirloom vegetable and herb seedlings (maximum 5 per postal code)
🌾Help plant our flax garden
🍔Grab a bite to eat from Char in the Kitchen (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
🏠Take a tour of the John Brown House and our historic property
🖼️Explore current exhibitions and displays
🧺Enjoy lawn games and spend time on our pastoral ground
Seedlings are available while quantities last. We'll have a variety of vegetables and herbs including thyme, rosemary, oregano, dill, lemon balm, basil, and cilantro, cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, lettuce, swiss chard, and cabbage. All heirloom varieties, all grown lovingly at the Homestead by our Garden Keeper volunteers.
