In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn how to transform fabric scraps into stunning, textured artwork using a Japanese-inspired technique known as Kinusaiga.Instead of sewing, fabric pieces are carefully pressed into a backer board to build layered color, shape, and dimension - creating a mosaic-like design that feels a bit like painting with textiles. It’s part puzzle, part color play, and incredibly satisfying.
No experience is needed to create something stunning. We'll have all the materials, including original patterns for a variety of blooms, and fabrics in a variety of colors and prints.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a finished framed piece that looks like an intricate textile painting, made entirely from tucked fabric scraps. Plus, you'll have the know-how to keep transforming spare fabric pieces into something beautiful.
