About this Event
If you were to cross square dancing and Jane Austen dancing, you’d get contra dancing! A uniquely American dance form started in New England in the 1700s, contra dance is going through a major revival.
Dances feature lively, uplifting, acoustic music that ranges from traditional waltzes to covers of modern pop music; and this joyful, fast-paced, aerobic dancing is social in nature. Please come out and join us andThe Folk Music Society of New York for a full day of circle and do-si-do-ing! No partner necessary and no experience needed.
Come for the dances, stay for the community.
