Horse Plus Humane Society is waiving all adoption fees for available horses from April 19th through April 22nd of 2026. Donations are greatly appreciated to help other horses in need. All horses will be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and have current negative Coggins. There is a 2 horses limit per approved adopter and their immediate family, adopting more than 2 horses (unless bonded friends or mare and foal) at this event is not allowed. ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO PRE-APPROVED ADOPTERS! All adoptions will be filmed for our TV show on YouTube and photos will be taken for our Facebook page.
This event is not for first-time horse owners, but for knowledgeable horse owners. If you are a first-time horse owner, please email us ([email protected]) and schedule an appointment after this event. This is to ensure that we have enough time with you to make sure we match you with the perfect beginner horse.
Adoption applications must be sent in prior to the event. Applicants will be given a 1 hour appointment time for the adoption event. Adopters may bring two guests with them during their scheduled appointment. Appointments will be given on a first come first serve basis for complete applications received by April 15, at 12:00 pm. Incomplete adoption applications or applications submitted after the deadline will not be processed for this event. Approved applicants will receive a 1-hour adoption appointment between April 19th through April 22nd of 2026.
Once we receive your completed application and the application is approved you will receive your appointment date and time. Approved applications will be processed in the order received, so get your application in so you get the best appointment time. Appointment times will fill up fast and the first appointments will have a larger selection of available horses. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption even to an approved adopter if we feel the match is not right.
First Right of Refusal Agreement - All adopters must sign a first right of refusal agreement for each adopted horse. If the horse is not the right match for them they may return the horse to Horse Plus Humane Society and/or exchange it for another horse at our shelter in Hohenwald by appointment during business hours in the future. Adopters are responsible for returning the horse to Horse Plus Humane Society and any costs involved with transport.
