We’re gathering intentionally to mark the Spring Equinox — the turn of the season, equal light and dark, longer days ahead. This is not a St. Patrick’s Day after-party.
It’s a reset.
The Sister Cities working lanes are active — arts, education, business, civic — and this will be our first full gathering with real momentum underway. It’s not a formal meeting, but it is a working room. If you’re curious about what’s building between St. Louis and Galway toward the 2027 50th anniversary, this is a good place to step in.
Joe’s Café is the right setting for it. Proprietor Bill Christman has deep Galway ties and has exhibited major work there in person. His outdoor space is layered, sculptural, and unlike anything else in the city — worth the visit on its own.
The evening will include:
• Bonfire (weather permitting)
• Poetry at 7:00 PM, curated by Eamonn
• Music in the background
• Donated beer from Civil Life and Schlafly
• Irish stew
We’ll also have informal lane updates and open conversation.
Volunteers welcome — if you’d like to help with setup, tending the fire, food coordination, or breakdown, message directly.
Bring someone who should know what’s building.
Light returns. So do we.
