About this Event
As a nurse, I’ve learned you can’t 'mindset' your way out of a nervous system that’s been red-lining for months. This Spring Equinox, I’m not asking you to find your bliss or 'pour from an empty cup'. I’m inviting you to put the cup down entirely for a little while. We’ll use a series of curated, science-backed sensory invitations to signal to your brain’s alarm system that it’s safe to stand down. This is a quiet walk for the chronically overwhelmed who need the grounding kinship of the woods without the performative wellness fluff. Come as you are and let the forest do the heavy lifting for a couple hours.
What to expect: We aren't "hiking." We’ll cover less than a half mile at a slow walk, and there will be plenty of time for sitting among the trees. I'll provide sit pads for sitting on the ground, but let me know if a chair works better for you.
The Social Load: You won’t be forced to open up your deepest secrets, there will be invitations to share and you can participate in whatever way feels comfortable.
The Terrain: The forest floor will be a little uneven, and likely be damp or muddy. Please wear shoes with good traction that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have mobility support needs, please contact me to discuss.
The Weather: We go out rain or shine. If the weather is genuinely dangerous, I'll call it off and refund you, but otherwise, bring warm layers and a jacket.
The Bathroom Situation: There is a porta-potty at the trailhead, and will be fairly easy to reach if you need it during our session.
The End: We’ll wrap up with a simple tea and nibbles to transition you back to the "real world".
We will be walking on private land. To protect the privacy of the landowners, exact location will be shared with registrants the week of the event.
