Join nature illustrator Melissa Washburn for a hike through Meadowbrook Nature Preserve to identify and observe spring ephemerals in bloom. Melissa will explain how she uses her artist’s eye to observe color, shape, symmetry, and patterns to help identify and visually capture the flowers and plants that grow in our local ecosystem. This hike will cover approximately 2 miles of moderate trails, with some tips on field sketching and time for participants to do some drawing on their own if they wish, but absolutely no artistic skill or experience is necessary to join this outing. Please come dressed for the weather, and feel free to bring a sketchbook if you have one. Please RSVP through the website form below to reserve your spot; space is limited.
