Each year, as the earth tips toward longer days, The Joy Project gathers around a shared table to begin again.
The Spring Equinox marks a moment of balance — equal light and dark — and we honor it the way our ancestors often did: by cooking, by feeding one another, by making sure no one steps into a new season alone.
For a $30 donation, you’ll receive:
- Brown Stew Chicken — slow-simmered in a deep, caramelized gravy with thyme, scallion, allspice, and sweet pepper. Tender, rich, and meant to be eaten with your hands and your whole heart.
- Rice & Peas — coconut-scented rice cooked with kidney beans, garlic, and herbs. A grounding companion to the stew.
- Seasonal Green Salad — crisp greens to remind us what’s emerging from the soil right now.
- Sorrel Beverage — ruby red hibiscus steeped with warming spices. Tart, bright, and restorative — a drink of celebration and circulation.
This dinner is more than a meal. It’s how we fund seeds, soil amendments, youth programming, storytelling gatherings, and the quiet daily work of tending land and each other.
