Join us for some relaxing springtime birding under the beautiful tree canopy at Boone Park South. Local birder and former Duval Audubon Society President Carol Bailey-White will lead an easy walk. More than 100 bird species have been documented at this eBird Hotspot. We'll be looking for common backyard birds like Blue Jays, Northern Cardinals, and Carolina Chickadees, plus a variety of woodpeckers and possibly some migrating warblers like American Redstarts and Northern Parulas.Park on Van Wert Avenue, between Herschel Street and St. Johns Avenue near the Oak Street intersection. Sturdy footwear (boots if it's wet), a hat, and binoculars are recommended. A few pairs of loaner binoculars are available for those who don't have their own.
