About this Event
Join the Friends of Minute Man National Park for a spring bird walk and observe some of the amazing nesting bird species at the Park! Minute Man National Historical Park hosts over 60 breeding species, including Baltimore Oriole, Scarlet Tanager, American Redstart, and Blue-winged Warbler. We will look for signs of breeding, including active nests, adults feeding young, and families with fledglings. We’ll take a one-mile stroll through the park with Kathy Dia to see and hear some of these beautiful residents.
Kathy Dia leads bird programs for Mass Audubon and the Brookline Bird Club. She is a volunteer monitor for the Northeast Temperate Network’s breeding bird survey at Minute Man National Historical Park.
Please wear appropriate footwear as we will walk along paved paths and unpaved trails, which may be muddy. Bring water and binoculars if you have them; we will have a few pairs of binoculars to loan.
Free and open to the public; registration is required as limited spots are available. Sorry, we are not able to accommodate groups for our public tours. To schedule a private bird walk for your group, please contact Kathleen Fahey at [email protected].
This event is sponsored by Friends of Minute Man, Minute Man National Historical Park, National Park Foundation, Save Our Heritage, Foundation for MetroWest, Robinson+Cole, Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area, Carleton-Willard Village, Tough Ruck, Middlesex Savings Bank, and Marquis Tree Service.
