As we emerge from the winter into spring, the winter heaviness can sometimes linger. We know that we can shift our nervous system with both movement and breath - and that's why I'm so passionate to bring these together. This session blends energising and restorative forms of both yoga, meditation and pranayama (breathwork) to help lift and raise our energy, balance it out and restore us ready for the warmer months ahead. This special session is your opportunity to pause, notice, reflect and refresh your mind and body to find that balance.We’ll start with the dynamic vinyasa style of yoga, moving through sun salutations and warrior poses before a series of grounding and restorative poses on the mat. Then for the second half we'll explore different forms of embodied meditation and practise a few styles of pranayama (breathwork) including balancing ratio of inhale:exhale and breath retention to downregulate the nervous system into a deep calm state. We'll finish by drinking tea/coffee and hopefully catching some beautiful sea views. Altogether, leaving you feeling blissed out and ready for the spring with new energy.
This session is open to everyone and suitable for all abilities. Most poses can be modified and I will give several options for poses and you can choose what works best in your body. Yoga is so much more than just your body so the quote goes “if you can breathe, you can practise yoga”.
