Looking to learn more about the natural world around us and discover the abundance of edible plants and mushrooms that grow in Ohio’s ecosystems? Join us at our Spring Foraging Workshop at Heritage Acres Memorial Sanctuary on Sunday, May 3rd, from 1-3pm! Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned forager, you will be sure to find out something new, as each season brings new plants to learn. This workshop will begin with an easy hike through the property and conclude with some tastings of deliciously prepared wild foods. This event is being hosted by Patrick Sanders, the Sanctuary Steward at Heritage Acres, who has many years of experience taking and leading foraging and mushroom ID classes. Pre-registration is not required, but encouraged. There is a sliding scale tax-deductible donation to Heritage Acres, which helps fund our burial ground's operating costs, and allows us to continue to put on new programming for the public. Please send an email to [email protected] if you'd like to register or have any questions.
Safety note: This event is entirely outdoors, so dress appropriately with sturdy footwear and bring your own drinking water. If you've not visited with us before, please follow the directions on the website as GPS maps tend to send visitors down the wrong driveway: https://www.heritageacresmemorial.org/visits/#directions
