Spotlight on Children: The Untold Impact of Domestic Violence
Presented by Lasting Support in partnership with the Greater London Authority
Since the landmark Domestic Abuse Act of 2021, children and young people are now recognized as victims of domestic abuse in their own right. Three years on, this conference will examine what this recognition has achieved across London’s boroughs, focusing on commissioned services, justice system outcomes, social care, and the growing number of children entering the care system.
What successes have emerged? Where do gaps remain? Are we truly providing the transformative support that children impacted by domestic abuse need?
With perspectives from professionals, academics, and individuals with lived experience, Lasting Support will highlight its work in Ealing, where we’ve pioneered the Building Bridges therapeutic model. This service was specifically developed to meet the new statutory requirements and address the unique needs of children exposed to domestic violence.
Policymakers, VAWG specialists, third-sector leaders, researchers, commissioners, council leaders, social care teams, NHS, and mental health professionals are encouraged to join us. Our goal is to inspire and inform enhancements in service delivery, making a tangible difference in the lives of children affected by domestic violence.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism, we are proud to host the only event dedicated to spotlighting the impact of domestic violence on children. This is an unmissable opportunity to engage with critical insights, share best practices, and drive meaningful change.
Please register early, as spaces are limited and filling fast.
