Dear Community Members, Single Parents, Local council and Colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well.

My name is Ms Francess H Massaquoi, Founder and Director of SPLAOCH Care Foundation, a community-led organisation dedicated to supporting single parents living with long-term health conditions or disabilities, along with their children and young carers.

We are warmly inviting you to join us at our upcoming multi-agency Safeguarding & Early Intervention Panel Roundtable, where we will be bringing together frontline professionals, community partners, and advocates to have honest, solutions-focused conversations about the families we aim to serve.

Date: Tuesday, 21st April 2026

Time: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Location: John Smith House, Bevan Ave, Barking, East London, IG11 9LL

Refreshments available.

TOGETHER, WE WILL EXPLORE:

• Early intervention before families reach crisis point

• The challenges of parenting through illness or disability

• Childhood trauma and how we prevent it• The hidden responsibilities carried by young carers

• Barriers to timely, joined-up support

• How statutory and community services can work better together

OUR SHARED GOAL

We are developing a wraparound early intervention model that steps in before families reach crisis, complementing existing safeguarding systems and filling the gaps that so many of our families fall through.

Whether you work on the frontline, lead a team, or advocate within your community, your experience and perspective are exactly what this conversation needs.

We would love for you or a colleague from your team to:• Join our panel discussion• Share your professional or lived insights• Help shape practical, preventative solutions

CALL OUT TO SINGLE PARENTS

We are also extending a heartfelt invitation to single parents, mothers and fathers, who are living with long-term illness or disability. Your lived experience is powerful and essential in shaping the support systems designed for you and your children.

This is a safe and respectful space for you to:• Share your journey and challenges• Be heard and understood• Contribute to solutions that directly impact families like yours

SPLAOCH is here to walk alongside you, and your voice truly matters.

This event also marks 3 years of SPLAOCH’s awareness and advocacy work, as we prepare to move into full-service delivery.
