Journalists who've sought help.A psychologist who knows journalism.
Coping skills that go beyond self-care.
Join us for a mental health in journalism panel on Tuesday, March 28 at Seattle Pacific University in Cremona Room 101.
Panelists will include Colleen O’Brien, host of Seattle’s Morning News on KIRO Newsradio; KING 5 Facing Race executive producer, Roberta Romero; SPJ Western Washington President Megan Campbell; and trauma psychologist Dr. Ginger Rhodes.
Each of these journalists has her own unique story about overcoming journalism-related mental health challenges and working to end the stigma around receiving help. Dr. Rhodes, a former journalist herself, trained at the Dart Center for Journalism & Trauma to work specifically with journalists.
The event will feature a moderated discussion with the four panelists, followed by an audience Q+A. There will be a casual meet-and-greet after the discussion with complimentary refreshments.
