The Spiritual Unity of the Tribes Gathering contributes to Land-Based Healing by creating a sacred and inclusive space for Yukon First Nations community members, families, and individuals to reconnect with the land, spiritual healing ceremonies, and one another. Rooted in traditional teachings of unity, wellness, ceremony, and cultural practice, the gathering brings people together in a safe way — to honour the ancestors, share knowledge, and strengthen identity through direct relationship with the land. The entire event will take place on the traditional territory of the Tagish Khwaan and Inland Tlingit in Tagish, Yukon.
Through prayer, song, ceremony, traditional/healthy foods, and time spent outdoors, participants are reminded that healing is not only personal but collective — it arises from being grounded in our homelands and supported by our cultural ways. The gathering helps restore balance, belonging, and spiritual wellness by reaffirming that the land itself is a living relative and teacher. The specific location in Tagish clearly represents an ancient spot of spiritual significance and gathering and was the place where Indigenous people gathered 30 years ago with the intent of healing, revitalizing ceremony and being together on the land.
