This specialist training is aimed at professionals who work in support roles and who may come into contact with childen and families where abuse could be identified.
Over the past five years, the UK has seen a 43% increase in the reporting of spiritual and ritual abuse. Jordan Alexander, who facilitates this course, has directed hundreds of successful investigations into such abuse, including the first criminal trial in 2018 where it was acknowledged as an aggravating factor.
This course equips you with the necessary tools to identify, report, and refer instances of this abuse, ensuring you are confident in handling such concerns.
The course covers various case studies, current statistics on this abuse in the UK, its integration into other more recognised forms of abuse, and essential indicators to watch for.
Jordan will guide you in addressing this abuse, which is intertwined with our beliefs, in a respectful and considerate way, enabling you to protect others from harmful rituals and practices, allowing you to safeguard individuals.
Jordan has over 20 years’ experience in leading on serious safeguarding investigations at a national and international level, working in the police for 20 years and then a Director of Safeguarding for a national charity.
He is also the current chair for the National Working Group against Spiritual and Ritual Abuse, leading nearly sixty national and statutory agencies in the UK to bring positive change to safeguard people at risk from this abuse.
Jordan is a qualified, accredited facilitator and firmly believes in providing training that is interactive, engaging and immersive, ensuring those who attend leave confident in being able to fully manage safeguarding concerns and reports.
