Meet and Journey with your Spirit Animal during this special Shamanic Workshop. A Spirit Animal is an aspect of your Soul that you share deep connection with and that may guide and heal you. Laying down and Guided by Sound and Rhythm we’ll embark on a Spiritual Journey thru Consciousness to the Upper World where we’ll discover or reconnect with our Spirit Animal. Afterwards we’ll have time to journal and illustrate our Spirit Animal Journey with provided pastels and art materials before an optional sharing session.

This Power Animal Vision Quest will be facilitated by Awoken Space Founder Jesse Rakusin and is based on the work of Michael Harner and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Harner developed concepts around “Core Shamanism”, the study of the underlying spiritual concepts and practices that have shared by all tribal cultures. Thru the foundation's offerings and workshops Jesse has studied the concepts around Power (or Spirit) Animals, Soul Journeying, the Upper, Middle, and Lower Worlds. Jesse has also traveled extensively meeting and at times living with Shamanic practitioners including experiences with Siberian and Eastern European Healers, Amazonian Medicine Guides, the Mudang of South Korea, the Highland Andean Q'ero, Native American Elders and many more. All Shamanic Cultures have journeyed with and been guided by Spirt Animals.
Jesse Rakusin is a Yogi, Musician, Artist, and the founder of the Awoken Space. Widely travelled, Jesse has learned from Sadhu Yogis and Monks high in the Himalayas, Shaman teachers in the Amazon + Andes, Vedanta Sages deep in the Jungles of Tamil Nadu and many more. Mentored by notable names such as Emilie Conrad, Erich Schiffmann, Chungliang Al Huang, Stanislav Grof, Swami Dayananda, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, Jean Houston, Rupert Sheldrake, Shiva Rudra Balayogi, among others. Jesse is also deeply influenced by Yogananda, Papaji, Ramana Maharshi, Sri Aurobindo, Alan Watts, the Tao, Jimi Hendrix, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and much else.
In the true spirit of Yoga ( Union, “To-Join”) Jesse’s classes involve a synthesis of lineages including Traditional Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, Tibetan Yoga, Somatic Movement, Sūkshma Vyāyāma (subtle body exercises), Tai Chi, and more. With inspired playlists, varied activities including breathwork, powerful meditation techniques, cultivating + moving energy, connecting with nature, guided yoga asana, along with free movement and dance, classes are intended to truly awaken, settle, heal and reveal.
