Spindletop Rotary Club will host the Celebrity Roast of Jefferson County Sheriff Zena Stephens on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the MCM Elegante’ Hotel from 7-9 p.m. Proceeds to benefit the Southeast Texas Food Bank and Spindletop Rotary Club. This event will serve as the fifth annual with past honorees including Chelsea Tipton, Greg Bostwick, Roy West and Jimmy Singletary.Friends are invited to attend the night of good natured fun as Zena’s special friends “roast” her with stories from behind the scenes at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Roasters include Chief John Shauberger, Chief Donta Miller, Major Jeff Chadney, Deputy Tamara Brooks-Thomas and Zena’s daughter Lindsey Barrera.
Zena was re-elected Sheriff of Jefferson County, Texas on November 3, 2020. She has 30 years of extensive experience in law enforcement management and operations. Zena is a dynamic leader who has established a professional culture at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. She was the first African American Female Major and Deputy Chief at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Zena was also the first African American Female Chief of Police at Prairie View A & M University.
