Indie rock band ROSCOE TRIPP is not just a name, but a collective effort with roots in the early 2000s indie scene. Initially conceived as a creative outlet for DC-based producer Greg Fine in 2021, ROSCOE TRIPP soon evolved into a full band. In 2022, the lineup solidified with Fine on lead vocals, Tony Vitez on lead guitar, Masterjee Bumbu on rhythm guitar, Cass Foley on bass, and Ash Tressel on drums.
The band’s sound, often compared to Bright Eyes, Pavement, Julian Casablancas, M. Ward, and Modest Mouse, made waves with their debut EP, It Always Starts with Something, released in January 2023. The EP was a solo effort from Fine, who wrote, recorded, and performed all the tracks. Their sophomore release, A Cage Made of Tin, arrived in August 2023, with the full band collaborating for the first time. Produced by Kenny Carkeet, known for AWOLNATION’s “Sail,” the title track gained traction on college radio charts.
ROSCOE TRIPP is now preparing to release We All, a four-song EP blending original material and covers, continuing to carve out their place in the indie rock landscape. The lead single on the new EP, “Cut Self Not,” was released on September 12, 2024 with the full EP available on October 4th.
