About this Event
250 years ago, these streets were flooded with volunteer soldiers who left their homes and families to take up arms against a tyrannical government.
What were the events that spurred such passion, joining together individuals from thirteen colonies, to see themselves as a united, and free force? How did American colonists discuss the present danger of war on their land? Who wanted to side with the Continental Army? Who might have wanted to remain loyal to King George III?
Join historian and educator Sydney Marenburg at the Old Stone House, on August 16th from 11:00 - 3:00 for an all-ages, drop-in dialogue leading up to our commemoration of the 250th Battle of Brooklyn.
