Spider Lily Kayak Tour

• Experience the Blooms: Paddle through a stunning maze of Rocky Shoals Spider Lilies on the Catawba River in South Carolina. This unique bloom happens just once a year, from mid-May to mid-June.
• Included in the Trip: The trip includes river guides who will lead you down the river and through the lilies. All necessary gear, including boats and paddles, is provided, as well as a shuttle back to the parking lot. If you prefer, you can skip the shuttle and enjoy a scenic 1-mile walk along the Canal Trail, featuring historic canal ruins along the Catawba River, near Rock Hill, SC.
• Who Can Join: This section of the river is relatively shallow, so expect to get stuck on rocks occasionally. You will need to “scootch” off of them or push off with your paddle or leg. This is NOT a "lazy river" ride as you might experience in an amusement park! It is a moderately strenuous activity that requires you to dislodge yourself. But don’t worry—we have three guides per trip to help you navigate and keep the adventure flowing smoothly.
• Weight Limit: Please note that we must adhere to a 250-pound weight limit per kayak to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment.
• Check-In Details: Participants do not need to arrive early. Simply check in at the kayak launch by the start time on your ticket. Look for our tent and brightly painted school bus at the check-in location.

• Comfortable Clothing: Quick-dry and weather-appropriate.
• Water Shoes or Sandals: Shoes that can get wet and provide good traction.
• Hat and Sunglasses: Protection from the sun.
• Sunscreen: High SPF for sun protection.
• Water Bottle: Stay hydrated.
• Dry Bag: To keep valuables and electronics dry.
• Insect Repellent: To ward off bugs.
• Camera or Smartphone: For capturing the beautiful scenery.
• Towel: For drying off after the trip.
• Change of Clothes: In case you get wet.
• Light Rain Jacket: In case of unexpected weather changes.
