Spice up your senses with a one-of-a-kind culinary experience as the Spice Detective takes the stage at the Phillips Social Hall on September 18, 2025, as part of the Neustadt JAAMM Festival. In Journey to the World of Middle Eastern Spices, you’ll be transported through the rich, aromatic history and cultural significance of the region’s most essential seasonings. This immersive event features live cooking demonstrations with delectable tastings, engaging stories between dishes, and a chance to ask your burning culinary questions during a live Q&A. Guests will start the evening by choosing and bagging their own custom blend of spiced popcorn, then watch as the Spice Detective—alongside experienced volunteers or a skilled caterer—prepares flavorful Middle Eastern dishes. The night concludes with a hands-on session where attendees create their own shawarma spice mix to take home. A book signing rounds out this unforgettable evening filled with flavor, fun, and discovery.Seating Information: Individual seat purchased are General Admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
