Who are Liminal Gaze Collective?
We are a queer artist-run collective based in Ipswich. Every month we host untutored and non-hierarchical Queer Life Drawing classes. Our events are organised, run and facilitated by members of the queer community, and our models are also from a variety of queer identities. Our approach is model-centred so the model has run of the space, allowing them to present as they wish and engage us as artists in conversations about queer identity, and the disruption of gendered and hetero-normative ideals. This is a great social event and connects us to a community of artists and queer folk, sessions are relaxed, we have a laugh, sometimes there are even snacks and we like to go to the pub after. We run a sliding pay scale for our tickets as we believe that everyone should have access to art, education and community.
