This duo is the culmination of two Midwest boys joining forces in Bend, Oregon. The Spencer Marlyn Band is what happens when a looping artist meets a one-man drum circle. Combining Spencer’s captivating songwriting, effects pedals, and looping setup with Scottie’s West African music trained background and culturally diverse percussion kit, this duo packs a punch that is one-of-a-kind that matches the energy of any full band. Genre-hopping between funk, reggae, bluegrass, jam, folk, and psychedelia, SMB is a full on dance band packed with originals and fun covers that everyone can dance to.
